I just got my first ipod for my birfday! :rockon:

I'm sure there is some "special" cable for this thing, but really. Any reason to hunt it down or just use the line in?

Basically you have a few options, you can just use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio jack to go from the headphone port on the ipod to the aux in on the MS3, this lets you use the ipod to change songs, however doesn't charge the ipod while its playing.

You can also get modules that let you controll the Ipod from the stereo / steering wheel controls, some display text on the LCD of the car, some don't. Really comes down to what feature(s) are important to you and how much you are willing to spend.

Aux in it is. I'm not spending almost as much on a cable as was for the ipod....

Do keep in mind with that unit 1) You loose the use of your Aux Input and 2) no text will be dispalyed on the Car screen. You can just scroll through songs/playlists. Not a bad option though for the money.

Agreed. If you didn't have the aux-in already, the audiolink would be my first choice. But it's a lot to spend just to get integration with your HU controls

I'm just messin with ya. If you're into Apple's brand of tech, iPods are great. I just cannot stand the propietary BS that they pull. I'd buy a Creative Zen Vision for my money.

I was on a the look out for one of those too.... if the money was coming out of my pocket. But it was a gift. First apple product I've ever owed....
