While I don't think the govt is out to get me or anything like that, I find a lot of conspiracy theories rather interesting. This thread is for posting up crazy conspiracy theory info and discussing it.

I found this site: http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/ via stumble upon quite a while ago. It has some interesting stuff even though the site is pretty horrible. One thing in particular on this site is the Denver International Airport conspiracy.

Supposedly part of the 35W bridge collapse is a conspiracy. After they announced the cause of the collapse was due to the gusset plates being too thin, they tried to go back and dig out the old blueprints and technical drawings. The only paperwork they couldn't find was the mathematical calculations for, and sign-off of, the gusset plates.

Yes, the official explanation from our loving, honest President is more likely than the many scientists who have argued against the 911 cOMISSION report ;)

"let us not tolerate any outrageous conspiracy theories, concerning the events of September the 11th..." - GWB

Gotta listen to an honest man ;)

Ooooh.. And the Magic Bullet theory.. The government obviously based that one on critical thinking, logic and physics

Why did we allow Oswald to get killed? That man was an AMAZING shooter!

Edit: Im not saying all theories are right, I have seen some that are totally off the wall with nothing more to back them up than "bush is evil", those ones hold no merit.. The only ones I have listened to have had some scientists and physicists back up the theories.

I have only learned about the 9/11 conspiracy and some of the JFK conspiracy theory stuff. Oh and thanks to Fox I learned about the moon landings having been possibly faked to beat the Soviets :robot:

i used to follow the 9/11 theories a little bit. A friend of mine had me watch "Loose Change" and it did get me thinking for a while. The most perplexing thing to me about the 9/11 theories is what brought down tower 7? It wasn't that close to the other towers, it didn't get hit by any debris, so what brought it down?

One thing about 9/11 that has always bothered me is the eye witness accounts of the fire fighters describing the destruction in the lobby and the sight of molten steel below ground.

In the Zeitgeist movie they interview a demolitions technician where he demonstrates how they demolish a large building, then show a picture from Ground Zero of a vertical steel beam cut at 45 degrees, identical to what the demolitions guy was showing.

Here is one site attempting to prove this theory, and the use of thermite:

Here is another attempting to debunk it:

History channel did a two hour special debunking the theories out there related to 9/11. I am not gonna tell anyone they are right or wrong, but it was a very interesting and informative show. That is all.

I watched that, too. I'm tired of believing or disbelieving one thing or another, whatever happens will happen. As Mulder said, the truth is out there.

Kinda seems like a contradiction. In order to find truth, you would have to eventually have an absolute belief one way or another.

And, as Scully said, "Harder, Mulder, harder!"

Oh wait.... that was the XXX-Files. My bad!

I simply do not believe the official stories due to inconsistencies. However the conspiracy theories leave just as many questions as they answer. It all boils down to who/what you believe. I don't know what to believe 100%. I just don't believe everything the government says. The witness testimonies mean nothing to conspiracy theorist debunker's.

Same goes for my views on a higher power vs atheism. I do not know who to believe 100%. I just know which belief I sway towards. I consider myself Christian, although I dont believe most of whats said in the Bible, due to inconsistencies and the hypocrisy in which the church conveys.

At least no one has labeled you a nutjob conspiracy theorist for life, you avoided that bullet. My 4 month span of watching these videos ended back in February. I think I watched them more for entertainment than anything. None the less, im branded. Oh well. :thetwins:

That's my main problem with conspiracy theories. It's one thing to simply remain skeptical of "the official explanation". That doesn't make you a nutjob or anything. But some people are so adamant about believing that every part of the official explanation is a lie, that they delude themselves into believing explanations that are 10x more implausible. There is a healthy middle ground between believing everything you're told and believing the opposite of what you are told. Both of those extremes have one thing in common--the complete absence of rational or independent thought.

BTW, it's only a friendly branding if that helps... lol

That's exactly why I don't believe one or the other entirely. Do I think one is more truthful than the other? Sure. But I don't entirely discount the one that I think holds less water.

I can agree on this. I consider myself a Christian as well mainly just meaning I choose good over evil. I have beef with pretty much every organized church and denomination that I have ever seen due to the hipocracy like you said. So I stay away from church. I also don't preach to people about my beliefs either if it comes up I will talk about it like here. But I still have been branded a religeous wacko by some.
