Anyone want to meet up and enjoy 62 degrees on saturday and hamburgers and/or brats? All we need is a location (house, park, hospital, city hall, whatever...)

EDIT: I can bring brats or hamburgers i just need to know what people prefer and how many people are coming.
if someone wants to bring potato salad, chips, etc... or something that'd be cool, and then lets do it bring your own beverage style.

"Midway Picnic Pavilion"

I would be interested! Don't really have a place in mind though. Coon Rapids Dam mebee? Not sure what kinda condition it's in up there this early, but I think they have grills. I'm open to whatever.

Yeah, i'd say my place, but, no dogs allowed and I assume the ball of fur in Josh's sig should be in attendance.

I have my portable sooper weber propane grill, so thats NBD- how about we go to the como park or something like that?

This sounds like a cool plan assuming the weather holds up.

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 01:12 PM
It will; let's pick a place and it'll be fun!

mndsm
04-04-2008, 01:13 PM

04-04-2008, 01:18 PM
I may have to bring out ubercopter, but that may be a bit much while trying to keep tabs on a puppy.

Who else can we get to come to this shindig? Where's Jay?

Workdawg
04-04-2008, 01:26 PM
If I can get Jenny to come, I'm sure she'd dog sit for you... she loves puppies!

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 01:27 PM
Cool, I'm sure my fiance will fight over puppy sitting with her, but she's in crutches at the moment so your gf will probably win lol.

Workdawg
04-04-2008, 01:39 PM
Haha.

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 01:41 PM

Go talk to Jesse at Morries, then you can pester him for sponsorship info... I've been bugging him, but he was sick last time I did.

If you tell him you're from MNMazda I'm sure he'd get you a good deal.

Slim
04-04-2008, 02:41 PM
I might stop by.

I'd like to dognap...errr...dogsit the new pup.

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 02:59 PM
LOL I'll be watching you Tim.

mndsm

I'd sneak off with her, but your dog could not be disguised as a cat very long, and I would lose my residence if I had it.

I won't be able to be there by 1, and I might be picking up my exhaust early that afternoon. I'm a definite "maybe"

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 03:09 PM
I must say the janky ebay exhaust lasted at least!

Sounds like fun. I can't make it though, family stuff.

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 04:22 PM
Dude this is like Saturn back in the 90s, with the "see where your car is born camp" - we are your family. Your other family is already with us!

Picklz
04-04-2008, 04:26 PM
So 1pm but where we meeting, that lot I posted in the link to google maps or somewhere else?

Workdawg
04-04-2008, 04:27 PM
I think it would make sense to setup a place to get the grill going and hang out in advance. If we meet in the parking lot and wander from there, no one who comes later will find it.

Well I might be able to swing through for a little while. The family gathering probly won't be till later like 5 or 6.

I know como even less... don't ask me.

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 05:43 PM
If preferred I could set up something in Burnsville because I don't know como worth jack, I just threw it out there for sh*ts and giggles.

Workdawg
04-04-2008, 05:46 PM
Well, the "Midway Picnic Pavilion" is right there (by the parking lot), theres also some tables to the west of there, across the street. The pavilion might be a good option in case it starts raining.

mndsm
04-04-2008, 05:46 PM
Dan with the save!

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 05:48 PM

mndsm
04-04-2008, 05:50 PM
We'll just start wailing on em til they leave.

Picklz
04-04-2008, 05:54 PM
Okay so go with the pavilion or just a grassy knoll nearby if its rented (and they are bigger than us)?

mazdamn02
04-04-2008, 06:02 PM
I could scare them off with my Forge BPV

If it weren't such late notice, I'd be there. Unfortunately, my Saturday has been spoken for.

I might be able to swing in for a bit...I think my weekend is pretty much wide open. Is it BYOmeat-for-the-grill and a dish to share or something, so it doesn't matter who brings what? I might bring a couple of tag-alongs too...

Jenny's going to make some raspberry bars to bring. Is someone bringing buns or condiments or anything?

Picklz
04-05-2008, 10:32 AM
I'll bring some Ketchup and a package of Brat buns.

Edit: First post kinda sounds like Josh might be bringing Meat, I already bought some so I will still bring what I have. It is bring your own beverage though.

Have fun everyone, wish I could make it, but have family things today. I'm even in the 3 for a week or so, got 49,5xx miles, gonna run the warrenty out, then rip the engine out.

Picklz
04-05-2008, 12:28 PM

mazdamn02
04-05-2008, 12:40 PM
I will bring brats and we can do burgers next time. If someone wants to bring buns that's perfect, mebbe someone can bring some tater salad. In true mazda meet fashion I'm sure we will have to go to the grocery store anyways lol.

YSOSLO
04-05-2008, 01:03 PM
I'll bring some brat buns, kraut and tater salad and the wife made a pasta salad with pepperoni and black olives and stuff.

YSOSLO
04-05-2008, 01:10 PM
sorry, no tater salad from ysoslo. pasta salad trumped it this trip. anyone else?

Good meet guys. When I was leaving to go there were two guys in the parking lot and they were like "dude you have the same car as all these other ones!" I told them we all new each other and we were having a picnic.

Picklz
04-05-2008, 06:01 PM
Yeah it was a great time, thanks for all that made it on such short notice, I was surprised at how many showed up!

And that's pretty funny about the guys and your car. Not often you see that many Mazdas all in one spot, yet alone a Majority of them being Speeds.

Young Roids
04-05-2008, 06:03 PM
YEa they thought it was crazy they were laughing about it like"whoa"

Thanks to Josh I want a catback exhaust now, too. Ugh... lol

Dan and taya had fun "reserving" parking spots. Good meet.

Yeah, definitely a cool time... Thanks to all the people who brought food, and also for not eating the raspberry bars so there was more left over for me :p

I'm glad I finally may get someone to spend money on their car- but Tom still takes the cake for actually making me go buy my car (i'm glad I did though lol)

I was somewhat in the process of getting ready for house guests this weekend... trying to depit the house.

mazdamn02
04-07-2008, 10:19 AM
i was awe struck by how many people made it out for a 1 day notice, pretty awesome! I think there were like 9 of us or so...

Picklz
04-07-2008, 10:22 AM

Workdawg
04-07-2008, 10:25 AM
Another 1.5 hours of eating would have been enough to get another brat or two in me... so yeah, on time would have been great :p

The guy with the grill can show up whenever he wants though, the party doesn't start without him.

Yeah Josh, I may not affect mods much, but with my current total of making people spend money close to 40k, I'm pretty much guaranteed the prize for that one.
