Turning Slotted Rotors

I need some outside opinions on whether I should have my slotted rotors turned or should I just buy new rotors? I just found out this weekend that my pads are warn out and I need to replace them, and I have always been told to resurface rotors when you replace pads. I've done some looking around online and I'm hearing very mixed reviews on resurfacing slotted rotors. I've heard to not bother cause of cost, the fact that the slots will be more shallow, they don't need to even be resurfaced. I've also heard that they should be resurfaced. I'm a college student so I don't really want to spend the extra money again on new slotted rotors if I don't have to. Oh and I also do autocrossing, and I have a spirited driving style, so the slotted rotors do offer the performance I require.

I personally would not have any machining done to a drilled/slotted/dimpled rotor.

Do you have reason to suspect that the rotors need to be replaced? If your pads are worn, but the rotors are not warped or worn thin, I wouldn't even worry about them to begin with.

Well I know one rotor is warped, I can feel the steering wheel shake when I brake.

In that case, I'd definitely go ahead and replace the fronts. My gut tells me that most reputable shops would refuse to machine a slotted rotor, and well, I wouldn't want a sketchy shop working on my brakes in the first place! lol
