Figured I would start a thread to gather some ideas together for a weekly meeting as some of you have expressed interest. So go ahead and throw a few ideas out there. Example: Bowling, Drinks at the bar, Dinner, Rob a Local Bank, etc.....

I'm down for robbing a bank.

oops, that was the sound of my IP address being added to the FBI's watch list

I already reported your IP in when you signed on the for the site. They are just using everything from here on out as circumstancial evidence.

Robbing a bank with bowling balls?

dmention7
03-16-2007, 02:44 PM
You've gotta have a good-sized set of balls to rob a bank... might as well be of the bowling variety

mndsm
03-16-2007, 03:25 PM
Yup. We got a couple good getaway cars on our side though, so it is possible.

It'd be kind of cool to have a "hangout". A place where everyone knows our name..... and they're always glad we came!

mndsm
03-16-2007, 05:49 PM
But where can we do that without looking like highschool kids?

Any place where you can actually order beer and drink it...high schoolers can't do that. Just a thought...

I used to like heading down to Porky's in St Paul. We could pick a night/time and have a regular meet there? I know the food is great, nice to be outside, and a nice lot for all to gather.

I have seen the Miata club meet there, we used to with the DSM crew, and lots of other clubs seem to hang as well. Just dont pick Friday or Saturday night...

This is true.

I like the idea of Porkys.

Just make sure you're not there the same night the Corvette guys are. My coworker has a 'Vette, and he says when he's run into those guys they're assholes.

mndsm
03-22-2007, 08:57 AM
Corvette guys usually are, which is sad.

Big Nate
03-22-2007, 09:05 AM
Well then lets go there when they are there and piss in the corn flakes.

dmention7
03-22-2007, 09:20 AM
Maybe we can get LSE to hop up all of our rides to 500whp, and then we can piss in their cornflakes, then run away before they kick our asses

DrWebster
03-22-2007, 09:22 AM
Kick our asses? They're all middle-aged guys, or geezers. Just take their walkers away!

mndsm
03-22-2007, 09:23 AM
Zoom Zoom.

Sad thing is my car and the other Speed models here can handle most of what GM put in a corvette until about 1992...... Even some of the big block stuff. Certainly outhandle anything until about 1986......

dmention7
03-22-2007, 09:23 AM
yeah, but they're middle-aged guys with something to prove. The insecurity alone might make up for any other disadvantages they have

DrWebster
03-22-2007, 09:25 AM
I dunno man, I've gone on some fast runs with my coworker in his Vette, and it doesn't feel as competent at high speed as the Speed3 does. When we were doing 135, it felt like we were going 70. 135 in the Vette is pretty scary.

mndsm
03-22-2007, 09:25 AM
Insecurity breeds stupidity. Chances are one of them would line up and not even notice the cop and do a full drag launch. Then i'd laugh as Johnny Law lays the smack down.

dmention7
03-22-2007, 09:27 AM
Okay, you guys have convinced me. "Pissing in vette owners' cornflakes" meet FTW

Found this yesterday, kinda funny:

Nice! lol

Big Nate
03-22-2007, 09:56 AM
That is vary funny.

But if there is a mustang meet i would let the go cuz they would kick some ass. The vette guys can eat my ass.

mndsm
03-22-2007, 10:16 AM
I dinno, I find that the Mustang guys are kinda odd. Nice cars, most of them are kinda dumb though. Maybe it's just bias from my high school days. They wanted Camaros and Mustangs, I wanted an Evo.

Big Nate
03-22-2007, 10:29 AM
Agreed they are kinda dumb and that is why they will just punch you in the face for say a mustang is just ok.

mndsm
03-22-2007, 10:36 AM
Yeah. Which is why I stay away from them.

Don't know if it was mentioned but BWW or Shenanigans Pub www.shenaniganspub.net
14605 S Robert TRL, Rosemount, 55068 - (651) 423-6383

Would be a nice spot to meet up weekly. Wings and beer.... and funny stuff hanging on the walls..

Big Nate
03-22-2007, 10:53 AM
That is kinda far.

mndsm
03-22-2007, 11:14 AM
I refuse to ever set foot in Shenanigans. Ever. I went in there once because some friends thought it was a good idea, and it was the WORST bar I had ever been into. BWW isn't nearly as bad though. They have video crack and the machine where you can win gift cards.

WhiteSpy9
03-22-2007, 11:15 AM
good look, I was going to drag the girlfriend there and check it out....

Yeah, there isn't crazy shit on the walls. It's rotten, it's old, and they can't pour anything to save their asses. Ask for a Long Island there and you're getting turpentine.

WhiteSpy9
03-22-2007, 11:27 AM
wow... what a let down..
I went into a Bennigan's last week. Wasn't too bad...
They at least got the funny stuff on the walls done right and the drink pouring...

I like the porky's idea, as long as its a weeknight, we should be alright. Otherwise we could do a bee's/bdubs meet like the mitsu guys.

i like the bww idea.... but porkys is nice and central and everyone knows when it is.... anyone have a day or time yet?

mazdamn02
03-27-2007, 01:27 PM
i want this to happen! we should try to give porkys a try sometime, the rest of this week looks like a wash though, thunderstorms for the next 3 days?

JustROLLIN
03-27-2007, 01:52 PM
OK. I will meet up as well. Looks like Wed night took it..... But, now we need a solid time. I know people work, so meet up at what 7:30pm?

mndsm
03-27-2007, 02:15 PM
I'm rolling through there as early as 5:30-6pm, it's on my way home. so earlier wouldnt be bad.

Big Nate
03-27-2007, 02:24 PM
Good for me.

Now are we saying this wednesday like tomorrow or like April 4th next wednesday?

mndsm
03-27-2007, 02:47 PM
Hell if I know. I can be down for either.

WhiteSpy9
03-27-2007, 03:15 PM
Porky's is on university?

mndsm
03-27-2007, 03:24 PM
Yep. 94 (whatever direction E/W) to Snelling. Go north on Snelling two blocks, and there's University. Take a left, go some blocks, and Porkys is on the left.

mazdamn02
03-27-2007, 03:34 PM
i've got dinner @ the parents on this wednesday, i could always delay to Thursday for that though. if this were a weekly thing i'd be down for that.

JustROLLIN
03-27-2007, 03:36 PM
Yeah, the plan is to make it a weekly event, or maybe bi-weekly. 5:30-6 is too early. I am coming from the westside, so leaving my house before 6-6:30 is useless.

WhiteSpy9
03-27-2007, 03:42 PM
It is right on my way home from work then. I am one of the unfortunate who get to ride on 94 two times a day in rush hour...

JustROLLIN
03-27-2007, 03:43 PM
Thats what I am trying to avoid. LOL. I cant stand 394 -> 94 during rush hour. I would be better off biking into town.

dmention7
03-27-2007, 03:44 PM
I do that as well. but only between 280 at 35w

WhiteSpy9
03-27-2007, 03:50 PM
really though you would... I try to just leave hella early and leave work around 3.

mndsm

I have no choice. I catch 94 @ hwy 55, and have to ride it as far as Hiawatha, or possibly to Snelling.

WhiteSpy9
03-27-2007, 03:57 PM
That isn't so bad. I ride from 94 @ 55 all the way to 5th street run right into the excel center.

i agree, i don't get out of work till 6:30

JustROLLIN
03-27-2007, 04:18 PM
Well leaving work early is not an option for me. Normally its not an issue as I drive north on 169 for 10mins and I am home. But, heading east on 394 is a nightmare at that hour. (4:30)

Big Nate
03-27-2007, 04:26 PM
Ok so 7:30PM tomorrow(wednesday march 28) at Porkys

Done

mndsm
03-27-2007, 04:27 PM
7:30?Ok. I can go home and change. Or something.

JustROLLIN
03-27-2007, 04:51 PM
I will start a new thread that is stickied so everyone will know the official event and time. I think it is supposed to rain tomrrow though.

mndsm
03-27-2007, 04:52 PM
Can we cancel it during the day since everyone reads this anyhow?

JustROLLIN
03-27-2007, 04:58 PM
Absolutely, or if people are still down, so be it. There is coverage at Porkys.

mndsm
03-27-2007, 05:05 PM
I forgot about that. As long as it's not all cold, i'll be down.
