Headlight question

Alright so I put in the new HID's tonight...but the I think the level is wrong...I went to a wall about 5 feet away and tried to move them up..which i did...but my cuttoff looks nohting like it does on others that i have seen...could it be because i have stock lenses...so it doesn't look like people's who have aftermarket? (clear) or what not?
