So I'm debating picking up some tractor trailer style air horns for my RX7. That long nose with nothing in it is just begging for something to be hidden in it. Being one of the few Minnesotans out there who likes to use his horn, I figure why not get one that will scare the crap out of people and make them laugh at the same time?

What do you all think?

I think it's trouble waiting to happen. Scaring the crap out of people when they are behind the wheel of a car in motion ("driving" is not necessarily accurate), is generally a bad idea. I can see road rage or an incident of other sorts happening.

I use my horn plenty, while I can understand wanting more horn in an RX-7 (I have an FC Convertible myself), I think going beyond a normal car horn is unwise.

I'll put in a vote for doing it, I have wanted a set of air horns for some time, will probably eventually end up buying a kit from here one of these days:

Oh I wasnt going to go all horn happy and honk at people just to hear my own horn. Id only use it when people cut me off etc lol. I'm not afraid of the road rage, I can deal. I just figure for $30, why not.

$30??...what are you looking at getting. I've got a couple of air horns myself, and I love them.

ah...if you're looking for LOUD without spending hundreds of $$$, you might want to check out the Stebel Nautilus horn (139db).

That would me nice, but I like the idea of those huge horns haha. I'd probably pick up some cheapo chrome-ish paint to spiff them up a bit lol

I swapped a set of the dual-tone horns from the Mazda6 into my 3, and while they sound better they're still not loud enough. I'll probably go Nautilus pretty soon.
