Hey everyone,

Okay, I wanted to get these konig's which are 18inch 8 inch wide, and have a 45mm offset. The dude at Discount Tire told me I would have rubbing issues, which sucks. Do any of you tire/wheel experts know if he's just covering his butt, or will this really be a problem? Would rolling the fenders alleviate any foreseen problems? I'm thinking of putting on a 225/40 18 Yokohama s.drives.

Please help!

45mm is a pretty high offset, the tire may rub on the suspension or something else in the wheel well. A small spacer would fix that. Rolling the fenders is never a bad idea.

The guy said I should find one that had a +56mm offset like my stockers so it would push the wheel out a little bit. I was thinking a spacer would fix that problem, but I am in no way a wheel expert...

Low offset is what gets the wheels further out, that's how you see cars with a large amount of dish/lip. It's really a matter of researching the Mazda forums and seeing what people have used that fits.

A 45 offset with 225/40 and you'll have no issues with suspension or your fenders. You'll be plenty clear.

Even with the 8 inch rim, though?

Yeah, you'll be good on those, I'll be running even wider than that, and a lower offset. You might have to roll your fenders some, but you should be fine on the inside. Stock was like +50, and you're moving out further, so you're good.

Thanks, everyone! I'll do a little more research, but I'm glad you see no problems! I didn't like much of anything else in my price range, so this makes me feel way better!

You're on stock suspension so unless you get coilovers or upgrade to meatier tires along the way I see no issues. Buy 'em!

myself and dmention7 are looking to get some fender rolling done. I'm gonna buy an eastwood fender finisher, and we're going to rent a fender roller. Jay (dmention7) has done this before, and it's pretty easy. I imagine if you're worried, and want to get in on it, a small donation would cover the use of materials to roll your fenders.
