The "Wing" that I picked up for work runs Windows ME, aka "Windows Mobile 6."
Never before I have been so infuriated with a phone. So the 2 questions I have are should I get a palm (palm os, not windows ME) or a crackberry with tmobile or sprint? Price isn't really that big of a deal since the service goes through work....

Crackberry FTW. You know they're the shit.
Stay away from Sprint, they suck ass. I used to have them, and switching to TMo was like night and day. Plus, if you go TMo you can get the Crackberry unlocked for if you ever want to switch to AT&T or another GSM provider. With Sprint, their phones only work on their network -- you can't switch to another one.

Windows mobile is the shit. My blackjack runs it. I can do a lot of crap from my phone like type this message here.
I think our roomate just got a Moto Q with Windows Mobile. I think he likes it alot, and looks like the internet feature is better than on my new Voyager, but the Voyager rocks thus far none the less.
Little 'fuck apple' shout out. ;) LOL

I had two smartphones with versions of PalmOS, and it is very simple and easy to use. Now, I left the whole data/phone scenario because none of the new designs combine phone and PDA functions the way I want them (either way too much one or the other). Bottom line I would recommend is to play with both how you would be likely to use them and decide what you like best.
I would strongly recommend Verizon for service, with TMobile in second place. Sprint has screwed over too many people I know.

If you aren't interested in 3rd party apps/freeware and don't mind the crackberry's key pad/predictive typing or not having a touch screen it is FTW.....
I'd say T-mo w/ the unlimited blackberry internet is where it's @ for $19.99 for a service provider. Grab the 1500 any time minutes for $39.99
If you are interested in the largest pool of 3rd party/freeware apps then windows mobile is where it is at (Nintendo emulator, M4A-Podcast player, Streaming Internet Radio).
I'm running windows mobile 2003 (WM6 is a$$, as you saw on the wing) and have skinned my device to display very similar to the iphone. 12 large icons on the touch screen, each time one is pressed it fires up an application.
I can just poke around at my device with my fingers and flip through pictures/songs. etc...
Oh and windows mobile live search is a real nice feature too...

Yea, with googles release of android, the ftc auctioning off the the 700 mhz band as an open network, verison opening up their network, our world of wireless options is about to explode. If you can wait a year, your going to have alot more options.

Well if you actually want a keyboard where you don't hit 3 keys with every stroak, then their is nothing that comes close to the SK series.
