So I just bought an 07 MS3 sport at walser in burnsville. Paid 19,939 for it OTD price of about 21,600. It is a red, I was gonna wait for the white ones to come out but this deal was too good to refuse so I jumped on it. I am suprised that there are this many people in MN with Mazdas that there is a whole forum about it, that is cool. I was wondering about how much some of you dudes pay on insurance since some places(progressive) wanted $330+ a month wich really seemed outrageouse but I found a place to do it for 135 pre month so I went with that (I have a spotless driving record by the way). What race tracks are around here? I might be interested in going to some tracks and really having some fun with my car. Since this is the first new car I have ever owned I am not going to street race it. I am gonna go all the way legal since my insurance is high enough as it is. Oh yea, one last thing anyone know a good local tire shop? I want to put 16s on with snow tires before I drive my new car. So yea, greetings to all you dudes.

Welcome!

As to taking her out on the track, this thread might be of interest to you: http://www.mnmazda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=757 Personally, I wouldn't feel good about taking my DD out to a full-on race track.

If you're just looking for some snow tires, Discount Tire has always done well by me. Be careful with 16's on the MS3, as you need a very specific wheel size in order to clear the brakes.

Other than that, we meet up at BWW in Roseville about 2 wednesdays/month, so you're welcome to come join us!

Welcome!

I second the advice on the 16s. It seems very few fit the ms3. I know some people who've said they wish they would've got 17s.

My advice would be to research some online prices for the rims and tires you want and get local shops to match that or come very close accounting for shipping. Check out tirerack.com for good prices and reviews of tires.

Also, keep TPMS in mind.

YEa, I looked at 17s and while I could get those for a price close to the price of 16s I know that if I go for 16s they will be solid in snowy/icy conditions. I am also aware that you really have to be carefull about what 16s will fit an ms3 with the big brakes it has. I will also check out that thread on track days :)

p.s. Silver MS3 are you on some other Mazdaforums I think we have talked before. Cheers!

I am 25. And I always thought that once you hit 25 your insurance would drop way down but it really hasn't helped me all that much.

Nice price on the speed!

I actually got a pair of 16s to fit on my speed3, but it was through trail and error and it is a VERY tight fit. No problems as of yet. :)

Yea I was set on waiting for the pearl white models to come out but since they wanted like 26,200 OTD for them I found this deal and I had to go for it. I am not one to praise car dealers but the guys at Walser were the best. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had. The car was listed at 20,435 and I call about it and ask what the OTD price will come to so I can cut them a check and dude calls me back with an even LOWER price when I didn't even ask for a lower price. I was like COOL!!! in my mind.

What kind of 16s did you get to fit it?

Yes, I ocasionally post on m3f and 24/7 when it's not bogged down with people arguing. I posted about getting mine from walser. Who'd you deal with there? Shingy?

About the insurance I just graduated and called my insurance company up to update my information with now not driving to school. And my rates went up 20 bucks every 6 months!! I was kind of pissed so I checked out Geico and there quoted me at 741.06 every 6 so I am now a proud customer of Geico seems like they have really good rates for young drivers.

And wow I didn't see your OTD price before nice!

Ok I knew you looked familiar. That was a great tip telling me to go to walser they were way better to deal with than luther and they gave me such a good price that I have nothing bad to say about them the amount of money I saved was huge. I dealt with Jeremy.

Walser has a pretty good sales dept, but I'd reccomend giving Morries a shot when it comes to service. I wasn't terribly impressed with walser's parts/service dept.

I will have to check them out at morries for my OBDII recall then. Walser did give me free oil changes for the life of the car every 3750 miles but I am not sure if I want to trust someone else doing oil changes on my car.

I'M OFFENDED!
Nah, and they'll give you shit fossil oil. Not worth it in a boosted car. Give the thing 5-10k and switch to Mobile 1. Your engine will thank you.
