hey guys, i was thinking since we have seen a increasing number of rotary cars here on the site if we could get a section of our own?
would this be possible?

In all seriousness though, why not just create threads under the appropriate section's of the existing site structure? You still have engine/electronics/apperance/etc. I don't think it's a big enough subsection to warrant new boards, that'd be like having a MS3 specific section, etc.

:p Dan.

Erik's Rx7 will beat his manager's Grand Nat off the line. Not sure if that is torque but it is cool none the less :)

The Grand Nat always like 3rd and then screams past.... but that is different :p :p

it never seems to surprise me about the lack of enthusiasm for something other than a Mazda Speed product on the forums

Don't get your panties in a bunch, we don't REALLY hate rotaries, its just fun to joke.

As others have said, there doesn't seem to be much need for a rotary specific section. Just put your threads in the other threads that are available. If we need a new section because something doesn't fit into one of them, then it makes more sense.

I don't think the community is large enough to need so much complexity and splitting.
i dont really think it should be complex, just a section for rotaries, we do seem to be growing, slowly but surely, and im sure more new people with rotaries would find it nice to see a small section dedicated to the specific type of engine

If you do this, may as well add Mz3/MS3 Half-breed section. I'm open to giving it some unique title as well.

Then we need a DISI section, a N/A 2.3 section, a 3.0 Section, maybe a LS1 section, etc etc. It just doesn't make sense right now.

LOL LS1 section on a Mazda board. Only in my world, and perhaps picklz.... would that make any sense.

Ivan, we're not trying to bag on you, honest. The simple fact of the matter is there is no justification to break the board up that much. We have ~250 members, a third of which are even remotely active, maybe a 10th of them actually log on more than once a month.... and off the top of my head, I can count 4 rotaries out of that group. You, Jon, James, and Erik. I know there are others out there, but it doesn't seem like nearly enough at this point to justify it. Not to mention the fact that you start doing stuff like that, and everyone is going to want their own area. If you're that serious, put a post in the On-Topic section. I'll keep an eye on it so it doesn't get trolled. OR- maybe drop a thread in each of the tech sections that are relevant. I'm sure everyone here is more than willing to give you a hand, it's just a matter of having the ends justify the means.

In my opinion, the LESS sectioning and separation the community does the better it is to keep the community as a cohesive unit. The more you start segmenting based on model or engine, the more likely it is to make cliques.
