Air Compressor & Tools

So to break off the chat box and make a real thread I'm finally getting air in BAG, but want something with some portability that allows it to be moved around easily.

This is an initial one I was looking at:

http://www.amazon.com/Rockworth-RW1...AY/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1333630274&sr=8-12

This is a HF one suggested via Chat Box:

My goal is to be used with standard 110, and be for light home used. I need it for light car work, yet enough power to crank off a bitch when needed with an impact. If I don't have to buy a second tank for air at the track and can take this one with fine, if not, I'll dive into that later.

Also open to suggestions on impact guns on the cheap.

I recommended the HF one as you can get a replacement plan on it and just exchange it out locally if/when it shits the bed, I would suggest buying as much compressor as you can the first time around but that HF unit is :notbad:

I bought this Impact Gun http://www.harborfreight.com/12-professional-air-impact-wrench-68424.html
It LOL'ed at my lugs and rusted caliper bracket bolts, didn't even have to work at it.

Got this Impact socket set (and the matching SAE one), they are the BOMB DIGIDY

AJ you may want to consider nailing down exactly what tools you plan on getting, so you can check out the CFMs you're going to need on tap to be happy with the compressor. The HF compressor seems like a good deal up front, but the CFMs measured at 40psi vs 90psi may be an issue depending on what you're doing, and a 1/4" air outlet vs. the more typical 3/8" might be another concern. You didn't mention a budget, so I'll just throw my 2 cents in. If I were replacing my compressor and wanted portability too (which I doubt I'll ever care about personally), I'd look at the IR options at Northern Tool. They're definitely more expensive than the HF option, but it'll likely give you a lot let trouble/hassle over the decade or two that you own it.

THIS one is very well reviewed, but may be too heavy for you if you're considering taking it to the track. Although the aluminum tank concealer404 posted up previously might solve the portability issue.

The Makita here also puts out some serious CFMs while being much more portable and it too has excellent reviews. Just some options, albeit at a higher price point. I've always lived by the rule, if you buy quality you only cry once (the first time you pay for the item). Much better than getting a cheap one that craps out when you need it most, but people have to stick with what they can afford, so Matt's comment about "buying as much compressor as you can" is a good one.

Main tools will simply be impact gun and your basice air/tire tools. Nothing to intense as I'm not a big do-it-yourself person, though looking to take on a few projects at home in which simply having air available will pay for itself if as a whole I'm under $300 spent on initial investment.
