the sound didn't turn out that good on the vid. but trust me it sounds ALOT better. :woohoo1:

Would this provide for any extra performance, or is it strictly sound?

Mostly sound. Something like that won't be truly useful until you start overrunning the factory BOV, which shouldn't happen until you get the boost turned up.

most of the mazdaspeed bov's are junk, take yours off and blow in to it, mine would open and leak easly, so on my speed6 the hks bov made a big diffrence
