Saw this on Autoblog today.
Pretty damn incredible. for a car that starts at $40,995. This was NOT the Laguna Seca Package, it was the standard Boss 302.
It doesn't say if the Audi R8 had the 4.2L V8 or the 5.2L V10 but I found out it did have the 420hp V8 on that lap time. Still, that car starts at $114k. The Audi also weighs 200 lbs less than the Boss.
I've already seen the comparison of the GT vs. the M3 and knew the Boss would beat it. I'm not quite as impressed considering the M3 has a 4L V8 making 414 but a measly 295 tq. and both cars weigh-in within 100 lbs. M3 MSRP starts at $55,900.
As for the GT500...come on. It's a pig, it starts $10k more, and it has trouble getting traction. Of course a car with less power and weight coupled with traction throughout the RPM range is going to beat it. We all saw that one coming...
