Honestly, until you start upping boost, the stock BPV seems to be the best and most reliable from a performance standpoint.

Take that couple hundo and get yourself a CAI. You'll see a bit of an extra kick under boost and some more of that sweet sweet induction sound :D

None of the intakes should affect your warranty (unless you hydrolock the sucker), but yeah, for what it is, the MS CAI is pretty solid.

Another mfg also released a short ram (was it Cobb?) that seems to be doing pretty well. With a turbo and intercooler sending the intake charge temp all over the place, a cold air intake tends to not offer any real benefit over a short ram on FI cars. The short rams get my vote on a couple of counts: ease of changing/cleaning the filter, improved throttle response, lower price, zero risk of injesting water.

But if warranty coverage is on your radar screen, I'd probably just shoot for the MS CAI and call it good.

I'm probably going with the Cobb short ram just because there is less chance of sucking up water / gunk and like Jay said easier to install (or swap back to stock :) ) The MS CAI is an excellent piece though.

If you are in want of the MS CAI order it @ tonikinpartsonline.com, he's one of the sponsors of mazda3forums and an all around awesome guy. I got my MS CAI and exhaust along with stuff for my last 3.

Uh, doesn't the MS3 use the same BPV as the MS6? If it is, then it's a leaky piece that usually can't hold 15PSI of boost. The MS6ers highly recommend swapping out that plastic POS.

I'm just going off of what I've gleaned from mazda3forums. I have not read anything significant about problems with the BPV, but then again, I haven't directly researched the issue either.

Most of the "Which BOV?" threads that I've come across were giving the same advice I did--namely, unless you really need a defined blow-off sound, the stock piece is adequate until you turn up the boosties.

I haven't noticed any issues with the stock one so far, I would like to replace it but want to do the CAI and some other stuff first.
