Celebrity Owned & Driven - First MazdaSpeed6 Ever Retailed in Minnesota!

Hi all!

Ok, not really celebrity driven, just my stepmother and brother. Way back on December 1st, 2005, the MazdaSpeed6 arrived at dealers in Minnesota. On December 2nd my father and stepmother purchased the very first Speed6 in Minnesota.

-Funny Side Note-

I was one month new to the car business and my dad was excited to purchase something from me. My stepmom really wanted the Subaru Legacy GT, mainly because it was offered with an automatic transmission, but they ended up purchasing the Speed6. After they purchased it and I was delivering it to them my dad said, "Show me how to fold the seats down." I said sure, just do this... oh shit! Long story short, he still bought it and it didn't bother him much.

Here is a little history before I mention the specifics. My stepmom drove it for about two years (yes she can use a clutch well) and then decided she wanted an automatic transmission. She purchased a Subaru Outback and my lucky 17 year old brother at the time inherrited the Speed6. I can personally attest that he drove it just like I drove mine - didn't baby it but didn't beat the piss out of it either.

Everyone should also know that my father is a meticulous car freak that will always fix ANYTHING that needs fixing, including scratchs, minor dings, and of course anything major. Because my brother is going to college to be a brain surgeon my father takes care of all car related expenses for him.

Now for the good stuff! Every maintenance interval has been performed. Michael Ashby has detailed it multiple times, inside and out. Both exterior and interior are very, very nice. My brother doesn't smoke and keeps his car very clean. Our service department just did some repairs that anyone would be happy to hear. They just fixed a leaking rear differential (very common in Speed6s), gave it brand new rear pads, rear rotors, and best of all, rear shocks. This was a $2000 repair bill.

There are only two mods done to this car. One is the typical air intake from AEM. The other is an extremely tasteful mod that to this day I still praise my brother on. He had the factory alloys powder coated a dark graphite color. They look freakin' awesome. Even Michael Ashby wondered where he got them done and admitted they would look good on any car. It was a company in Duluth that actually works on airplane equipment and for some reason also specializes in power coating. It cost him about $750 and was well worth it. It is one of the nicest power coat jobs I've ever seen.

This Speed6 is a 2006 model (with original clutch - not the 2007 clutch), Grand Touring (no NAV), and just to be clear it is the only Grand Touring without a moonroof I've ever seen. Our dealership only ordered one and that is the one my dad wanted. The color is Liquid Platinum Metallic with black leather. The tires that are on the vehicle are category: Extreme Summer Performance (just can't remember the brand right now but they're a top notch manufacturer and expensive, and sticky as hell!) Also included is a set of winter tires (Blizzak I believe, or maybe Michellin X-Ice Xi2) only driven on for four months.

I don't have access to photos at the moment but anyone interested probably already knows what the car looks like, and condition wise it's nearly flawless.

Miles - 86,500 / Price - $13,500
