We're actually doing kind of the reverse, dumping cable TV entirely. My Comcast bill went up by $50 this month because our promo rate expired. This has happened every year for the last however many years I've had Comcast; usually I just call them up, press the button to talk to the cancellation department, and explain that I want to cancel the whole thing because the price is too high. Then they'd try to keep me as a customer by giving me the promo rate for another year. When I called yesterday though, the guy acted like he didn't give a shit; he said that I could downgrade service to save money (I'd end up with Digital Starter for $59.99 a month...they're on crack), but that was it. So I told him to downgrade it all the way to Basic Cable for $12 a month so I could save on the Internet rate. We've got a hacked AppleTV that does boxee and a Blu-ray player that does Netflix streaming, so I don't feel too bad.
