Did the fog light mod on the P5 that allows the fogs to be controlled with the parking lights. here is a pic of it at night.

That looks sweet!! I read in a different forum (don't remember which one) that if you replace the 1157 bulbs with 1156 bulbs that the parking lights won't stay on all the time, but will blink when the blinkers are turned on...at least on the Mazda3. If the Protege uses the same bulb, then it might work for those too and that would emphasize your fogs even more if you like the idea of that look. Has anyone else tried that sort of bulb replacement?

the parking lights actually are turn signals, at least i think they are. i havent seen my car for a few months due to college 1000 miles away :(. but as far as i remember those are turn signals too.

The fogs wouldn't blink with the blinkers. I should have been clearer about the bulb swap thing. The 1157 bulbs are a dual-circuit bulb (or something like that) which basically means that one filament stays on all the time (the parking lights) and another filament comes on when the blinkers are activated. By swapping the 1157 (2 filaments) with the 1156 (single filament) the parking lights stay off all the time, yet they still blink when the blinkers are on. I picked up some chrome 1156 bulbs to try out this swap, but haven't installed them yet, because I decided it's going to be a LOT easier (if not the only way) to install them when I have the front bumper off to install my halos. I'm hoping the bulb swap thing works, because I think the chrome parking lights will really look good when they're off and my halos are on. We'll see once it warms up a bit. Anyone else swapped the 1157 for the 1156 bulbs at all? btw, the chrome bulbs I got were a lot less expensive at www.autolumination.com than on other sites.

I bought a set of chrome-dipped bulbs and promptly threw them away. Maybe it was just because I bought a cheapo brand, but the light output was maybe 30% of the clear bulbs, and it was a funky orange color instead of a nice crisp amber.
