So I went to the comedy club late last night. And older African American couple were in the front row. They started talking to the warm up comic. Then when the headliner started they immediately said something about his first joke. What they said made no sense and the comedian was clearly a little annoyed. So...the comic told this joke. Not everyone in the room got it, but I immediately got it.
Goes something like this...
I was working with an old comic in Vegas who has since past away. He was selling some stuff, some souvenirs, after his shows to make a little extra money and he had this little figurine. It was an African warrior with a spear in on hand and a barrel around his waste. If you moved him the barrel would fall and this huge African dick would come out. I didn't buy one, and I always regretted that. I always wish that I could have a big African dick in my room.
Everyone laughed, but about a second later I REALLY laughed as I truly got the joke. I don't know how many people in the room did as this was around midnight in a bar, but I wasn't drinking. I know for a fact the people who it was intended for didn't get it. What do you think?
