Welcome to the site. Sorry I change the thread title to "welcome" as "Aftermarket Electronics" isn't really a catchy intro title. lol :D

Welcome to the site Micah! Yeah, definitely nice to have some quality electronics guys around. Throw some pics up in the members rides area if you get a chance.

Who do you work for? I also do car audio for a living as well. Welcome aboard by the way.

micah or 4dr.... quick question: I've got an aftermarket security system (don't know the details off-hand since it came with the car), and it has an auxillary function which I believe is currently unused. How much work am I looking at to have that function as a remote trunk popper?

If you need more details about the unit, I can get those once I get home today.

It all depends on right now if your trunk release is a push button or a cable driven lever pull.. if it's a push button it's a matter of a relay and a few wires.. if it's a cable pull you need an actuator and a relay and a bunch of bs to make it work right

It's a cable pull (same as yours ;)). Yeah, I kinda figured it might be a PITA. Probably not worth it then, as it would eat into my go-fast mod budget.

well if you say have an alarm with an aux output it'd be like 100$-150 ish.. for relays and etc.
