Idle is rough

I just cleaned and recharged my K&N filter over the winter and also cleaned the MAF and put new spark plugs into my 3. I used NGK irridium plugs. (approx $6.50 at advanced auto parts incase anyone needs some) This helped the Idle a bit but it is still kinda rough and hesitant when I step on the gas. Any other ideas of what could be causing this?

A friend told me to check the fuel filter. I tried to find the maintenance schedule for my car to see when I need to check/replace the fuel filter. Any tips? How hard is it to replace if I need to do that? I have 102,XXX miles on me car so I'm assuming it is time to get done.

Thanks for any help and tips you guys may have.

Holy crapzor thats a ton of miles!

Anyways, check to see if your MAF wires are pulled. My money says they're severed somewhere.

5 days a week of driving from near the MOA to Plymouth for work will do that. ;)

I'll check that this afternoon if i get around to doing my oil change. If the wires were severed or damaged wouldn't that really affect the way the car runs?

Wouldn't it throw a CEL if the MAF was disconnected in anyway?

So I couldn't find any issues with the wires. I am just going to buy a new MAF since i have tried to clean this thing 3 times and it has not made a difference. Do I need to do anything special with the computer or anything or is it a simple swap and I'm done?

Also, does anyone know a good place to get one besides the dealer? They want like $175.

Should be a simple swap. It wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery for half an hour, so the computer can relearn all of the settings.

So I picked one up at Advance auto parts for about $80. I asked the guys at the counter if this should fix the code I pulled from my car and they all agreed it would. Put it in and the light went off and the car ran a little smoother. About 5 miles down the road the light comes back on and the car is running rough again. I pull the code and ask the guy at the shop about it and he said it is a Baro sensor, not a MAF. I am now out $80 on an electric part I did not need. :(

I now need to go get one from the dealer. The only issue is that there are 2 of them and I do not know what one needs replacing or where either of them are. I'm gonna start with the cheaper one ($95) and hope that fixes it otherwise it is the more expensive one ($190). I figure the dealer is gonna charge me $100 just to look into this so for that price I can replace both if needed.

Any ideas where either of these sensors might be?

One of the baro sensors is attached to the stock airbox. It's a little black box with a short rubber tube pointing straight down. IIRC, it also has a mitsubishi logo on the top. lol

As to the other one.... no idea
