I was asked by a contact I have if i knew anyone looking for a help desk / it tech support associate position. They are looking for someone with 2-3 years experience, general hardware/software, Microsoft office, etc. experience.

Join the CarVal Investors I/T team supporting business-critical hardware/software that directly supports day to day business functions globally. Combine business and technical knowledge to provide excellent first and second level support of desktop hardware, business applications and IT infrastructure while ensuring corporate standards are met. Primary support will be located in North America but, will also include occasional support of our 12 offices across the globe.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
* 50% - Provide support for desktop hardware and software, including trading applications, market data services, standard Microsoft applications, Microsoft server software, video conference devices and mobility solutions via phone, email, and desk side support
* 30% - Administer vendor applications that have been adapted to CarVal's business needs as well as proprietary information systems
* 10% - Evaluate and implement new technologies
* 10% - Collaborate with other I/T resources, including our global partners, to provide the highest level of customer support
Our global team also provides resources for projects such as software/hardware deployments, in addition to piloting new technologies required by our Business.
Qualifications
Required
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience
* Results driven with the ability to work in a fast paced work environment, in addition to showing demonstrated initiative
* Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
* Previous direct customer service experience
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology on a continual basis
* Ability to work successfully in both a team environment and independently
* Able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and manage priorities effectively
* Ability to work extended and non-traditional hours as required
* Minimum 3 years experience supporting Windows XP operating systems
* Minimum 3 years experience with Microsoft Office Suite
* One to three years experience with LAN-based desktop applications
Desired
* Three to 5 years experience in a large (>100 user) multi-server Windows environment
* IT experience in financial industry
* Fundamental knowledge of ITIL V3 framework
* Experience with Remote Access Technologies (VPN, Citrix)
* Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, IIS, and SharePoint
* Experience leading technology migrations (upgrades, technology changes)
* Experience with highly available infrastructure\application configurations
* Experience administering 3rd party business systems
* Experience making appropriate decisions in a high pressure fast paced environment
