I just figured as automotive enthusiasts, especially on a local forum, we could all act as adults, so to speak, and get past the stereotypes (we don't need to continue the ones associated with YOUR car, because let's be honest if all you got for a Corvette is a midlife crisis car, it doesn't hold a candle to the ones associated with Mustangs).
I could care less about the shit talk, serious or not. I didn't buy the car for you and could give two poops what you or anyone else thought about it. Sure, for $20k I could've easily bought a Term (and don't think I wouldn't - I'm a VERY big Mustang fan), but the Z06 had more of what I was looking for. The Z06 is smaller (had no need for 4 seats), much lighter, gets 30mpg when desired, produces similar power (mine was a tad underrated too), handles tons better, and in my very humble opinion looks much more attractive than a Term. Sure, the engine's not forged and can't produce nearly as much power on the stock block, but I wasn't just going for straight-line performance. Boost will come in due time my friend.
I had much less chance of finding an abused one too. Mine has 30k miles, bought completely stock minus a C6Z shifter and an axle-back, and is in incredible shape for being nearly a decade old.
Maybe it's just me, but I see the 'midlife crisis Corvette' as the automatic convertible. To me, the Z06 is a road-going track-ready car from the factory. Of course, you're entitled to whatever you think, but that's how I see it.
