Mazda 6 TSX Retro

My current setup using MMH1 projectors with 5k H1 bulbs

Ending with TSX Projectors, 5k D2S bulbs and possibly switching out the fresnel lens for clear ones.

Orange plastic piece is the stock projector bracket, metal plates are the adapters.

I'd say rotation is pretty good based on my 'technical' test shots tonight with a flashlight and random stuff to level the headlight as much as possible.

Take these with a grain of salt.

First 2 shots are farther away without the lens on

These 2 are closer (to the wall) and with the lens on

Will try to get this headlight on the car by the end of the weekend to get some legit shots.

Almost hit a snag tonight, forgot I ordered the 90* amp to D2S connectors and hadn't bought the straight ones yet. Luckily I was able to fit the 90* on (they definitely won't fit with the dustcap in place) to at least do a test run on the setup.

Scavenged this connection wire from an H1 kit I had laying around (this was the stock power/ground to ballast power/ground issue I was talking about earlier Ryan)

I needed something to mod, plus I'm hoping using an OEM projector that uses a real HID bulb with give better results than a chinese manufactured H1 based projector.

Projectors, yes. Designed for HID's, no.

Yeah, it's a subtle difference in the design of the lenses, but it makes a difference.

What are you doing with your old projectors?

This is TSX only ~10FT away unaimed.

This is TSX left (drivers) unaimed and MMH1 right (passenger) aimed.

Not sure whats causing the little flare above the cutoff on the TSX. Going to try proper aiming with the clear lense and black bezel to see if any of those will make a difference. If i'm motivated may try proper aiming with fresnel and chrome bezel.

Depends on how the TSX compare to the MMH1 once they are dialed in.

After painting the shield black and getting the clear lens in it looks a lot better. Have to wait on Joelle to get me the pics since I forgot my camera.

Thanks to Joelle for the pics that turned out 10000x better than my crappy P&S could've done.

Car is ~18ft from the wall and camera is ~20ft from the wall.

How do you feel the light output is compared to stock?

Hell of a lot better.

This is my car with 6k in stock halogen projectors. You can see that the light kinda 'blobs' at ride height whereas with the projectors, the light fills in everywhere below the cutoff. Going to work on getting proper output pictures of HID in the stock projector for comparison.
