MS3 owners beware: Race pipe woes...

Some of you have heard my awesome ''beater'' exhaust note after I got the race pipe on. After a little investigation it turns out that the Protege Garage race pipe (and very well possible any other brand) is not compatible with the mazdaspeed CBE.
Reason being is the mazdaspeed CBE doesn't use flat flanges, its like they're rounded out. (pics to soon follow)
Protege Garage is going to pay to have a local shop weld a new flat flange to the CBE so it will mate properly with the race pipe.
I must say that Ken over at Protege Garage is doing a great job at conveying info and helping me out, thumbs up!

Agreed, I've hear different things about Protege Garage (mainly because their most outspoken supporters make complete asses of themselves) but they're doing a stand up job with making things right.

Thanks for the tip about the rounded flange on the CBE. Wonder why Mazda would do such a silly thing.

Ken is a great guy! I just ordered an AWR mount with the 70 durometer insert, and he sent me an email advising I go with the race insert instead. So I am! He is a great shop owner.
