When you get it mounted I'd like to check it out or see some pictures, this thing has always intrigued me.

I can't wait to see this in action in person. Should be a nice thing to have!

Have any pictures from a little further out / different angles? The more I read about this thing the more I like it.

That looks good where it is. Blends nicely.
Doesnt really blend but its where I plan on putting mine. I just got mine in the mail today, installing the software on vista blows... lol

Now I am trying to find a mazdaspeed3 or mazdaspeed splash screen somewhere

Have to plan out how to run the cable..... :/ Coldspeed, did you use the small aluminum mount they give you plus the red velcro? I dont think the red velcro will look nice with the black.

Yes, I used the mount that came with it. However, because I mounted it on the rubber piece on top of the steering column, I bolted it on. The velcro would never hold on a flexible surface.

Update: I changed the cars oil yesterday, hooked up the Dh and drove her for the first time in forever!

Since I have a Progressives tripsensor(black box to record my driving habits) and it uses the same OBDII port I bought an OBDII Cable splitter and hooked both of them up. Currently the wires hang out and I dont care for that, but theres no way of concealing the wires with the splitter there. I did run the dash hawks wire under the dash though.

I seem to hold boost in 3-6 @ around 15-16psi with some spikes to 18psi. I need to do a datalog sometime to get more accurate information from it than just looking at the gauge while driving. The TPS will spike to 70% but always holds at no more than 50%.. I was hoping ym car was a fluke and saw more than half throttle lol. Stupid drive by wire..
But the car did start right up! Had some turbo smoke at start up but not much.

I mainly use the boost/vac bar gauge with the throttle position sensor as my second option. I did do the 4 Gauge display with external coolant temp, air fuel ratio, intake air temp and boost too. Even in yesterdays cool weather the coolant temp varied from 180-220º and the IAT climbs about 15 degrees just from idling for a few minutes thanks to our top mount intercoolers.

Heres a couple shitty camera phone pics. Notice the daylight mileage and the night mileage ;) All in one day! Oh and the gas level...

I assume he means MPH? and a little KR at partial throttle is not a huge concern generally.

mph yes. ok so I was told that KR isnt knock... knock is when you "hear" it. well I thought KR, knock retard, is what lead to knock. And yes this car gives a lot as it does crazy things with timing but I was seeing 4-6 kr just cruising on the hwy in 6th (with my foor or cruise)... sooo yeah

I could meet ya halfway for it, unless you're coming down here again for work some time soon. Exhaust won't be on for another couple weeks or so.

JohnnyT I'm in Farmington so feel free to borrow my Dashhawk any time.

Yeah, knock retard is really strange with this car when it's not fully warmed up especially. My drive to work in the morning involves a couple miles of gradual uphills with slower traffic and I try to avoid 4th gear as much as possible. Even when letting it warm up from idle and driving a mile so the temp gauge shows it is warmed up, clearly its not fully adjusted to the day's atmospheric/humidity levels or something because it takes a good 5 miles before I can drive normally without knock.

No bigs man, I've got an AP for monitoring PIDs now.

I still wonder if the knock sensor is just FUBAR with this car...

It's gotten to the point where mine hits so high during part throttle I just don't even bother watching it anymore. I've only gotten as high as like 0.3 at WOT, it's usually always zero.
