My Brat-n-Kraut Pizza

AJ

110 HP of FURY!
Ingredients:
Johnsonville Original Brats
Franks Kraut
Pre-Made Pizza Crust
Grey Poupon Deli Mustard
1 Bottle of Widmer
Mozerella

Step 1: Cook brats in pan with beer. I usually let these cook on the oven for a good 10-15 min on a low to medium heat. Gives them time to soak up any additional flavor they can.

Step 2: Grill them up. I heat up the grill and let them sit and cook on the lowest heat till done. The low heat has allowed me to cook brats with minimal to no flame up from the juices. When turning do not puncture if possible.

Step 3: Heat the Kraut. On a low heat, I let the kraut heat/cook while grilling. This really just allowed me to have warm/hot kraut with a brat by itself while waiting for the pizza. :)

Step 4: Pre-Heat oven and prepare pizza crust. I used 425 as the temp. I added a nice layer of sauce (Grey Poupon) to the crust, and then a small amount of base cheese.

Step 5: Chop finished brats used into desired size and add to pizza with desired amount of Kraut. For this pizza I used 1 brat and a decent amount of kraut. Add remaining cheese as wanted.

Step 6: Cook for 11-12 minutes and enjoy, preferably with another beer.

My overall thoughts:

The mustard holds it's own, so you don't have to go overboard. I think this would be also just fine with other sauces, such as a regular pizza sauce or even a ranch sauce. That's something you can really play with.

I was also not as impressed with this pre-made pizza crust as I have been with others, but it wasn't bad, and it was a thin crust so it had some more solidity to it.

Overall I enjoyed the pizza and found it just as yummy the next day. I am thinking about adding some onions and possibly some sort of green or red pepper in a small chopped form to add a little flavor as well.

It was easy to make clean up as well.

Also... we already have a "Good Eats" thread here :p

I did a similar pizza a couple of times this spring, but I used normal pizza sauce and drowned the thing in frank's red hot. A bit of cheddar cheese mixed in with the mozzarella works well IMO.
