New Honda Engine Design

Saw this on another local car forum and thought I would share. Honda has designed an engine that will use exhaust gas to heat water and create steam, turning a generator for addtl electric power. Pretty wicked design.

I thought BMW already implemented something like that. Using waste heat to drive a steam turbine...

it's nice that auto makers are starting to look seriously at waste to increase the amount of energy that can be captured from fuel, instead of spitting it all out the tail pipe as hot exhaust.

Turbos aren't just for power, after all.
