PLX Kiwi MPG

Hey everyone,

I'm a 2006 Mazda 6 sedan sport owner and love to get on the gas but yet I like to keep aware of my MPG's whenever I can. Hard times you know with the economy.

Anyway, one of my friends has one of those ScanGauge II's. I've been debating buying one until now. I just stumpled upon this new gauge by PLX. Its coming out March 15, 2009.

here are some links...

Anyone else use this type of technology in their Mazda's?

I've heard of this one before. But honestly I think $90 for solely a MPG readout is a lot, when you consider that the scangauge is only $80 more but gives you realtime readouts on virtually all of your OBDII parameters.

Looking at the specs, it only lists
* Fuel Used (Gallons, Liters)
* Fuel Remaining (Gallons, Liters)
* Distance to Empty (Gallons, Liters)
* Engine RPM
* Vehicle Speed (MPH, KMH)
* Coolant Temp (Fahrenheit, Celsius)
* Throttle Position

Which is more than I first read, but I'd still opt for the scangauge if I was going to get one of these personally.

I would like to see one do mpg by actually measuring the fuel used... tapped into the gas line or something of that fashion. It's how Consumer Reports measures fuel economy on their cars.
