if you are keeping a secret from a friend (not someone you might be pursuing romantically). what negative/positive reasons do you have for keeping the secret vs revealing it.

PS. you can pm if you don't want to post. also, idc what the secret is about, just the reason for keeping/telling.

The main reason I would avoid revealing something to a friend is to avoid hurting their feelings or creating a rift of some sort (especially with regard to the big bad topics of politics, religion, rights etc).

You have a skewed view of what a friend is if you keep secrets from them.

secret= not friend
open (even when it may hurt their feelings)= true friend.
