Some Pics & Mod status

Was bored so here are some pics my brother took before I got my license plate. Now I have mudflaps on which is the only exterior/visual mod I have done so far. The flaps do a good job at keeping shit off my car.

I don't know if anyone has used Virtual Dyno. Probably not 100% accurate in numbers, but good to show the gains from mods. My brother had set up a profile in Virtual Dyno and sent the info to the maker of the program, so now they support the MS3. http://www.bradbarnhill.com/projects/VirtualDyno/

Here are some of the results of my mods (more to come as my downpipe will be here this next week).

I probably could have been a little more consistent on my pulls, but room sometimes runs out. Any small inclines and bumps can also throw it off, but it is a good way to see improvements :)

From stock to stage 1 93 from the AP OTS tune netted about 32 WHP and 47 WTQ. Cobb's site says + 9% WHP and + 17% WTQ from the tune, pretty close it seems.

From stage 1 93 to stage 1 93 + SF intake varied. Shown is the highest with 25 WHP and 4 WTQ, but the betalog is the same mods with the beta tune which was closer to some other pulls earlier giving 9 WHP and 1 WTQ from the Cobb SF intake. I'll be posting the results of the downpipe + fuel pump internals.

Let me know what you guys think.

Lol, that was basically the first mod I got. I saw what gains there were to be had and knew I'd need some sort of tuning capability if I wanted to take better advantage of some mods like a downpipe.

I think the red line is the only one that's actually AFR. The rest are boost pressure. Check the right side y axis.

That is what it has seemed to me from my logs and driving. I still usually like to shift around 6k if I'm really pushing it. I wasn't logging AFR on those pulls, but others that I was it it was alright.

I could be wrong, but I was of the understanding that boost was bled off at higher rpms by the stock tuning. in which case, it makes sense that a new map could/would hold full boost to redline. From the torque curve though, it looks like the turbo might be running out of its efficiency range towards 6k, which was also my understanding of the situation.

I picked up my downpipe today from MAP. It is an AQ Motorsports downpipe. It says it is for the gen1 MS3, but I asked AQ and they said they had fit it to a gen2 (Cobb's is the same). It looks and feels quality. I will update with stage 2 results/impressions and the install. For now, here are some pictures my brother took of the downpipe, enjoy!
