Suggestions for new summer rubber

mndsm

I'M OFFENDED!
The XS is Kumhos equivalent to the Star Spec and the RS3. They suck in the rain. The SPT's are closer to the V12 Evo and the Neo-Gen, KDW, what have you. If you're stepping away from what i'd call no compromise summers into something that is high performance but will last more than 25k miles- I'd say do the SPT out of that category. Cheapest, and I know a TON of people have run them with no complaints.

Can you get Yoko Parada Spec 2s in your size, still? They should be cheap since they were discontinued. I run them on my Miata which just sees street duty, but i've been impressed so far.

Not on the same level as the RS3/Star Specs, but plenty good to learn on.

Look on ebay for 'em.

Ecsta SPT, that's what I have. I'd rock them again in a heartbeat for a car that will be driven rain or shine during the nice months.

110 HP of FURY!
I have the Ecsta STPs and have little rain issues. In Auto X, I perform better than those running RS3s and such. I'll be running at least 2 sets of tires this year, maybe 3, as I get just a little more serious. :)
Funny, I'm actually running 4 sets this year, lol. Sweet.

I liked my kumhos but I've heard they are prone to sidewalls blowing out/bulging (which is what happened to mine), and why I didn't stick with them this time around.

But I've read they're loud and bad in the rain. Can't me worse than mine right now though. I'll take a pic so you guys can see what I'm dealing with.
They're neither of those things.

That said, unless they're cheaper than the Hankook Evos, i'd run the Evos.

When I was looking for tires for my mom's Montego, I stopped at tirezoo. They told me a handful of all season's siping doesn't go all the way through. Never knew that.
