The 7/17 Storm

AJ

110 HP of FURY!
Well we got hit fairly hard last night. Debris all over, large chunk of tree in road, and no power (apparently till fucking Tuesday!) On bass lake there looked to be a power pole down and thus lots of clean up to restore and fix down lines. I went out driving a bit last night and it was trippy to drive around when there is no lights at all, anywhere.

RIght now I've got the truck running outside as a makeshift generator with a converter set up to run a extension cord downstairs to power the interwebs. It won't power the fridge, and we've lost most of what's in there already anyway.

Anyone up for a game of cards or a trip to the Vu? This sucks.

Wow, that's crazy. We didn't even get enough wind to knock over our veggie planters last night, and we're only maybe 3-4 miles southeast.

Jana is at her sisters now and looking to see if anyone in that area still has a generator for sale.

I'M OFFENDED!
Yeah, I had seen Janas' post on FB. That really sucks. Lemme know if you need any assistance, I got the day off.

The tree is still there, lol, and sadly it's just big enough to need a couple people to move. I want to toss it back in the neighbors yard.

Just a lot of rain here, though there was a tree down in the park when I went running this morning, and a Biffy tipped over by the baseball field. Lots of little sticks and leaves all over though. I'm REALLY surprised shit didn't blow up at work, looked like the storm went right through Eden Prairie.

According to my neighbor guy's girlfriend, there were 20" diameter trees blown down around 242 and hwy 65 in Blaine or whatever's North of there (Ham Lake maybe?). Nothing major around us other than some good-sized tree limbs down.

Yep, my parents just 1-2 miles north of there just got a lot of wind and rain but around 242 I guess some straight line winds / twisters kicked some ass, just a LOT of rain and wind where I was in Ramsey, no damage. Just west and NW of me in Elk River there were some big tree's down I know. Fun times.
