However, i would have personally said that switching would give you a 75% probability of winning. Still trying to work out where i went wrong.

Because the laws of mathematics and probability apply in a uniform and predictable--if not always obvious--way.

Nevermind, it is 75% like i thought. I was getting two examples mixed up. The other one had 3 doors, not 4 envelopes.
