Tuning Logs, etc...

Yeah, different stretches of road and the rev limiter. I'm just trying to get the boost figured out and that's staying consistent at least from log to log.

It's really curious that power dropping off after 5000 rpm though.

Yeah, that is interesting. When I was on the OTS stage 1 map, I don't think I ever had that happening. Can't remember, do you have any other mods besides the obvious ap?

Cobb SRI, Forge BPV are the only engine mods. If you look back at one of my previous logs, where I was on OTS Stage 1, it didn't drop off at all. They must have done something to make it go away, but I managed to bring it back.

Boost is consistant for the most part. I would say try to get back to back logs on the same road to look for discrepencies.

The sample rate isn't the best, so there is a good chance we aren't seeing timing or boost changes that would cause the drop in power.

Got 2 more today, consistent stretch of road... I'm pretty happy with the boost now. Seems about as good as I can get it.

As far as sample size, I could do a 4th gear pull, but I'm a bit reluctant as that would put me above 100 probably.
I would be more worried about sample rate. For the sake of argument can you log fewer parameters?

Yeah, I can add or remove a bunch of different options.

The idea behind a 4th gear pull is it should take longer for the same RPM range, so while the sample rate wouldn't change, the quality of the data should be a little better.

Little update:

Reading up a bit more, it seems quite likely this is just caused by timing. I've got a new map on my AP with slightly increased timing that I'm going to flash on after work. I should be able to get some logs this weekend to see if it helps. I'll also probably download virtual dyno and make my own plots (apparently it's free? who knew <.<)

Alright, update after increasing timing 1* throughout the WOT load/RPM range...

Not really sure what happened in log 2 there, but the 1st and 3rd are consistant... so yeah.

Timing is increased compared to the Apr 23rd logs I have (pre changes) and there's no knock... so looks like there's more room to go. I'll updated again after another iteration.

And overall comparison (using 1 log from a few different points)

I took some more logs with 2* increased timing yesterday, and it turns out the car REALLY doesn't like the heat now... lol (forgot to upload them but will try to remember tonight).

My BATs (boost air temps) were around 40* higher than even a few days ago and it was really affecting the car. Boost was about 1psi lower throughout the RPM range and I was getting a little bit (under 2) of knock retard consistently at 5k rpm. It seems as though I'll be needing a "summer" and a "winter" tune to accommodate this.

I flashed my previous map back on with only 1* of timing increase from the OTS map and when the weather gets clear, do some logging again to see if 1* of timing will be okay for the heat. If not, I guess it'll be back to OTS timing and just retune the WG for moar boost at higher temps.

Fun stuff.
