UFC heavyweight champion
Brock Lesnar’s second round submission victory over Shane Carwin in the main event of
UFC 116 this past Saturday did not have a win-bonus in terms of his salary, but a flat rate to the tune of 400 grand certainly goes a long way.
The heavyweight champion was far and away the top earner from the night’s $923,000 payroll, taking home 43% of the total amount earned by the fighters last weekend.
The list of salaries for the fighters on UFC 116 were released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission earlier today and reported by MMAjunkie.com.
Coming in just a few thousand dollars short of the
heavyweight champion,
Chris Leben and
Chris Lytle made up the remaining two slots of the top three earners from the July 3 show, taking home $86,000 and $52,000, respectively. Lesnar’s opponent,
Carwin, took home $40,000 in his losing effort.
