out of curiosity, did you format the USB? when i tried using the USB method i had to install a program on the USB that would allow it to auto run a .iso file.
The issue I have run into is that the system reads the drive and then stops. I had a hardware issue with something inside my system and there are no drivers for it. The USB drive is the same one I have used in the past. It works on my desk top top run ubuntu.
