Wii Ganers

What are some good action based games for the Wii.

I am getting back into playing the Wii a bit more and just picked up Golden Eye and Epic Mickie. EM has received awesome reviews thus far, but since the overall Wii game play is something I need to adjust to, it's not easy to grasp right off the bat.

I actually read some pretty lukewarm reviews about Epic Mickey as far as the gameplay goes.

My first suggestion regarding Wii games is to head for Nintendo's first-party titles. The Mario Galaxy titles, Kirbys Epic Yarn, the new DK, etc are all extremely solid choices if you're looking for some fun action/platforming. A lot of "hardcore" gamers scoff at that stuff, but they are missing out on some fantastic gameplay. I would be wary of games where motion control is one of the defining features of the game without reading reviews first--there are many great games for the Wii, but the kid-friendly nature of the console means there is a LOT of shit to wade through also.

Thus far I'm loving Golden Eye, nice to not have to play that on an N64 and look like shit on the TV. I'll probably expand my Wii lineup this year a bit as well. Anyone play the GH or RB titles on Wii? Or have any reviews on the Gun controller for use in games like CoD?

Also, hows the online play for Wii?

Online play is next to nil for most games, since there's no central infrastructure for online play--each game implements it on its own.

Also, if you still have your 360 or PS3, just get RB and GH for them. They generally have better DLC (and online components in general) and the graphics are better. I can't think of a reason to buy those for the Wii unless it's the only console you have.

I'm not a big Wii fan but know quite a few people that have em, the new Donkey Kong and Mario are both FTW, and there are some fun party titles too, as jay said though for action, racing, and stuff like RB/GH I'm not sure why you'd look at wii over the 360 or PS3. I'm tempted to pick one up just for DK/Mario/Goldeneye though.

+1 to all of the above comments. Mario Galaxy, the new Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, can't go wrong. Madworld is a GREAT M title- and it's DIRT cheap right now used.

I think I might look at the new DK and some of the Mario World type games. We still have the 360 for all the real action games, but were looking to add a little mix to the Wii other than the Wii Sports or Fitness.

Good input!

A lot of it is because I can get back into gaming (as well can Jana) and Lilli can watch as well. We tossed in Epic Mickey and she was into it since she knows Mickey. Being that the games are cartoonish, should be fun for playing with her around.

New Super Mario bros too. Once lilli gets older, it's 4 player, so she can get down with you two. Epic stuff. Mickey- I haven't been impressed with, but it's gotten good reviews. YMMV.
