Windshield?

Anyone ever actually do one of these on their own before? I have discovered that the glass in the Prizm is less than adequate as far as the safety nannies at work for Taya are concerned. Something about vulnerable something something who gives a crap it's fine. Anyhow, I need to put a new windshield in it. Now I know the USUAL trick, but we're on sort of a short time frame, and i'd not be able to work that line without appearing suspect. IIRC, windshields at places like Upull are dirt cheap. I'm thinking I just go buy one of those out of a whatever, and put it in meself. Problem is, never done it before. I know it's a two man job without special tools, but I'm not at worried about that, because at least one of you would show up to watch me potentially blast a whole bunch of glass everywhere. Anyone got tips,, pointers, someone that wants to do it for like 50$ with glass? Trying to be as cheap as humanly possible here.

Short time frame? Last time I had a windshield replaced, they were out there the same day I called them.

Done that before. They get REAL suspect if you call, and add glass, and then get a windshield replaced the next day. Gotta wait a month or two. I don't have that kind of time frame with this car. Hence me asking.

As long as you don't drop the coverage a month later, it shouldn't be a big deal. Insurance is all about dollars in > dollars paid out in claims. If you add the coverage to a couple of your vehicles, they probably won't think much of it if you make a claim on 1 vehicle. Adding it to 1 of 5 and then making a claim on just that 1 vehicle on the other hand = somebody trying to scam.
