Winshield replacement on ms3

So Ive had my speed3 for 3 years now! and ive got 47k on it. the winshield has gotten so peppered from driving on the highway that its hard to see out of it when in direct sunlight.

I called up my american family agent and asked about my glass coverage and found out that i have full glass coverage with no deductable!:banana: so i set it up with a supplier i use at work that does our work vans and only use oem glass.

I had a tech come out today to replace the winshield and found out that the glass that he got is inncorrect. If you have the rain sensing wipers (gt package) and go to have your winshield replaced make sure the company you use has a windshield with a rain sensor already on the windshield. i got lucky and the tech has delt with these mazda3 gt's with the same sensors and didnt take anything apart. just a little fyi for my fellow mazda crew!

Would you mind sharing the name of the company? I'll probably be due for a new windshield soon too, and really want to get the OEM glass if I can.

they should have the right one on thursday. id rather have it take a few days then install the wrong one!

Shady, what you are referring to on your insurance policy is called full glass breakage. We are lucky in Minnesota that they offer it, most states don't as it goes under your comprehensive deductible.

When I had a chip repaired in my windshield before they came out, they ordered a new windshield from the dealer to bring along just incase they needed to replace it. They ended up only needing to repair the chip.

I've been loving the free glass replacemtent. I'm on my 4th windshield from cracks. And I'm due for another one for the chips.

Wait, so question here.... what is the standard for being able to get a replacement windshield? If I call up my insurance company and just say "yeah, I've got a bunch of fine pits" will they authorize a replacement, or will they just say "fuck off and call us when it's broken"?

Seems like every windshield I've ever had has been peppered with those fine pits that only show up in glaring light, but it's never occurred to me that I could get a free windshield...

from what I understand, they basically just send out a truck and get it done. My windsheilds got fixed while I was at work, or at home watching tv. Hardly even knew the dude was there. Most insurance companies could care less about a windsheild, cost them next to nothing.

replacing the windshield could prevent a crash and saves them money! so it is just cheaper to replace your windshield then smashin up your frontend up b/c you couldnt see.

nice, I'll have to give this a try on the focus' windshield. I'm pretty sure it's beat up by now.

Hm. Maybe I get some windshields replaced. Between the Mini and the Speed, and my old 3, I'm on my 6th windshield in just under 4 years.
