Here's a pic of what we're working with, probably not going to worry much about making it look better this season, so to anyone watching, it'll just be a beat to hell Escort with horribly peeling clearcoat. :loco:

Exhaust is here... Thought it was just going to be a cat-back, but apparently it's the whole thing? Nice surprise. Already has an o2 bung in it, so i don't have to worry about that. The fart cannon is a bit bigger than i was expecting, though. :p

Headers, KLDE injectors, PS Delete belt. Not entirely happy with the Ebay headers. (DUH!) Welds look fine, and they're solid enough, but the insides right past the flanges don't line up too well, probably not helping flow. Either way, they're better than stock, and less than half the weight, so i'll live with them for now. For $140 shipped, i'm not unhappy.

I'm dumb. So.... I bought this.

Designed to work on a KL powered ford probe, but I don't see why any of you adventurous KL fitters couldn't get this to work in a BG.

100% custom made down to the custom ordered short snout Magnuson built 4th generation M62 Eaton blower (not a junkyard piece). The 4th generation blower (found on higher end cars such as Mercedes) has higher tolerances and better flow characteristics than any of the readily available domestic offerings such as the 3.8 GM units.

Originally built by RR-racing for their super probe test mule (http://rr-racing.com/Project.htm). The blower is in excellent condition (and worth the price of admission alone). The rest of the components have lived in a couple of loosely packaged boxes and have lost their "newness" from being shuffled around.

ONLY the components pictured on the table are included (no BOV's, hoses, belts, etc etc). I also have a bunch of random hardware and bracketry that may or may not have anything to do with this kit that I am including as well. Includes an external IAC and a custom modded Cobra 70mm Throttle Body.

Do do doooooo...

Disgustingly dirty engine bay. Pretty sure the crank seal had gone out on this motor before i pulled it. It was leaking everything, everywhere. Can't believe it still ran. There was a half inch of oil gunk build up on the passenger side of the bay. :tard:

Test fit... suspension seems to be fitting well.

Cleaned and masked off. Notice the large patches of red paint just missing, exposing what looks to be bare metal underneath. This is where the biggest oil build-ups were.

Looking pretty good. I'm starting to wish I had painted my engine bay too, while I had the motor out. Eh, if I pull it again to do the oil pump, maybe I'll give it a shot.

What'd you use?

Answered in the chatbox, but just in case anyone else wants to know....

1) 1 bottle of undiluted Purple Power for cleaning (used maybe half the bottle)
2) 10-15 shop rags for cleaning
3) 1 roll of auto painter's tape
4) 2 cans of Rustoleum "rusty metal" grey primer
5) 3 cans of Rustoleum Semi-gloss black

Did the whole thing for about $40. Need to get another can of primer, and probably 2 cans of black to do the fender wells and the wiper cowl. Just wanted to get the bay ready to start putting things back in it.

Chassis harnesses are tucked, too! XD

Bored and something came back to me that i had thought about awhile back....

Which of these front ends? Keep in mind any of them will come accompanied by a rather large splitter.

I can also somewhat easily fit anything else that's a BG chassis. Includes Familia GTR/GTX if i can find them, Protege, Tracer, 323, etc.

Pics from last week:

Race car kit being delivered!

Hideous garage is hideous.

It's not a Lightning, but it carries parts overnighted from Japan just fine!

Unloaded, doing some cleaning.

The doriftu car gets moved out for more workspace.

She's up on stands finally to finish up the teardown.

Stock exhaust vs. Corksport exhaust. Not a bad way to save 30-40lbs!

Cleaned up crossmember a bit. Should have seen how disgusting it was.

Looks like you're making great progress! As far as front end looks go, I'm diggin' the pre-facelift TX3 Laser...especially if you throw some big old school rally fogs in the openings that look like they're made for just that.
