Total BS

Wow. Just wow. The factory turbo is not covered under the extended powertrain warranty!? That is a load of steaming, corn-encrusted shit.

I'M OFFENDED!
Well, I get it if the turbo had been strapped to the car after the fact, but that shit was shipped from Japan like that. WTF kind of bullshit are they trying to pull? I'd get a fuckin lawyer if I was you, get it covered and THEN cancel it.

Is your warranty through Mazda, or a third party?

If it's through Mazda that's BS.

A third party could have something like that in the fine print. Not that it's not BS as well. That's how the car came from the factory.

Can someone else check up on their extended warranty info?

Who are you kidding, your car isn't stock.
The only thing I have done to the engine is the SRI and the motor mount. All the other aftermarket stuff I have is suspension. The axel-back is factory upgrade from mazdaspeed. Either way, under state law they have to prove that the aftermarket parts caused the problem.

Also, I called Morrie's today and told them to send me out ALL THE FINE PRINT PAPERWORK on the warranty so I have some sort of proof that it is not at all covered. The warranty is though Protective Advantage as it is an extended warranty to 100,000k. I tried calling them today but of course all three times I called I got hung up on.

Yeah, a 3rd party extended warranty is touchy. You're going to need to go over it with a fine tooth comb.

Excellent, do you remember who the company was? I got mine from Walser and don't have a fine tooth comb :news:

Bummer deal on the msp, I hope it works out for you, and if you get an STI i'll want to borrow it for a few minues! :66:

Sti? Great choice... i'd love to have one. Sucks about the turbo though. Does BoomerGT still have that Disco Potato laying around? That'd be a lot cheaper than any STi......

I don't really know of anyone who wouldn't want an STi, unless they had an evo maybe...

Evos bother me for some reason. Too refined, or something. Plus they don't encourage AWD clutch drops like the STi folk do.

Huh? Everything I've ever heard from people say that the Evos are slightly faster track cars, but they'd rather own an STI because it's more refined.

Depends on who you ask. AFAIK, the Evo is a more suitable DD, and more refined on the track. The STi is much more raw and out of control.

Road and Track:
EVO X vs new STI

Linky

Summary: EVO X is the better track car, but the STI is more "liveable" as a DD. Mitsu's active yaw control turns the Evo into a "corner devouring monster" and is far superior to Subaru's Driver Controlled Center Differential. and the new semi-auto transmission on the MR is apparently quite amazing. Their pro driver left it in auto mode around the track instead of using the paddles and said it did a great job of shifting where he would have.

Yeah Ive been in both and I'd have to say the STI would make a better DD, the evo is pretty harsh. That said I'd rather have the Evo :) Sorry to hear about the bad luck Ash, hope all works out in the end, if you get an STI that means I'm gonna have to spend some cash to stay faster :D lol

What are you doing with the MSP btw?

I'm pretty sure it was just Morrie's themselves offering the warranty.
I'll double check when I get home.
