Mafia 4 - Night 2, Deadline 10/7 9pm

Yeah, I had to go back and check the OP just to see who was all even playing this round. So far, we have not heard a whole lot out of Kris and Josh, so just kind of a reminder here that NOT posting is suspicious, if not downright scummy. I want to hear from some more folks on how they view the current situation.

How about this to spur some discussion or at least some thought... if the vote deadline was right now, would you be in favor of a lynch or no-lynch? You don't need to tip your hand if you're trying to watch something play out without interfering... but if you're in favor of a no lynch, I would assume that means you don't have enough info to go off of, so ask some questions!

EBOP: Not just questions to get more info on specific things you are curious about, but to stir the pot. The way scum gets outed is by making mistakes and the way people make mistakes is by talking a lot.

So I may as well answer my own question. I've seen a few things that at the moment have me suspicious enough to where I think a lynch vote will probably be warranted.

Precisely the reason I targeted JT at outset. Simple fack of the matter is- JT was the first one that looked scummy to me. I wanted to rattle him and see what happened. He did handle it pretty well, though it was pretty clear he was kinda rattled, at first.

I agree with this. Townies need to stick together and not rock the boat.

You only need 5 votes to lynch so scum will not have the advantage until there is only three people left. before that they can only account for 40% of the vote. Town will have 60%
5 votes to lynch. The Townies only start with so many individuals, and by accounting with 40% of the vote, you only need to stir up one or two townies into a frenzy until the scum are in the lead.

I am still in favor of a no-lynch due to lack of information. I think I have a few ideas of some who one of the scum may be, but want to watch a bit more prior to casting a vote and flushing them out.

What do you think about JT now? Would you still vote for him?
I am less sure than I was. However- I don't know of anyone else that I'd vote for ahead of him. He's provided solid dictation and backup, but the whole thing at the beginning SMACKS of scum.

"Well this game is not going well.

First there is a snafu with what rules are posted, now there is another snafu with deadlines.

I say if there isn't more action just let night fall let scum do there thing and keep the game rolling.
This is a game and if the players are not playing the way the grand poobah wants why the fuck should the grand poobah change dates. Maybe town has something up their sleeve. Maybe scum has something up theirs. In the end just leave the good damn rules/dates alone or the game is fucked and not fun."

That being said I stand by the information we have in that Kris said he is scum. Now we don't want townies out there calling themselves scum and if they do i think they are playing for themselves and not all of town.

RE-VOTE KRIS

I was a little torn between a few others, but I agree with Nate.
Anyone who outright says they are scum, probably should be taken care of.

VOTE KRIS

There is no "snafu" with the deadline, it says right in the rules that I have the power to change it if there's a good reason. Kris has been all but absent from the thread and both Andy and Swanny have been participating at a minimum, IMO. Those are good reasons. I'm used to playing where a day lasts a month and literally hundreds of posts in most cases. You get a lot more time to scumhunt that way...

However, I've actually been pondering it for a while and I am inclined to agree with you. I will leave it to the players. If you guys want more time, I will grant it (due to the previously mentioned lack of participation by 1/3 of the players...) but unless you request it, the deadline will remain.

Current Vote Count (1.5)

JT [1] - Tom
Picklz [0]
Tom [0]
Nate [0]
AJ [0]
Jay [0]
Andy [0]
Kris [2] - Nate, Andy
Josh [0]

With 9 players alive, 5 votes are needed to lynch!

Deadline to vote: 9/26, 9pm.

I get the feeling that Kris is more of a "don't want to play, shouldn't have signed up" kill shot, which to me is a waste, but I also feel we need to vote. I'm still leaning twoards Tom as he's pushing JT's guilt...

At the risk of sounding scummy, I would say the current deadlines are fine. A month per "day" seems excessive IMO, unless you are a hardcore player, and I don't think that extending the deadline will entice any extra posting out of anyone.

Regarding Kris... I am not 100% convinced he is actually scum, but not posting much combined with the first post does not make a very good case for keeping him around.

The Tom/JT thing is interesting, but I'm not sure what to make of it yet.

Picklz has thrown out a few observations, but I don't have a good read on him.

That leaves Andy and Josh who have been fairly quiet.

The JT/TOM thing continues to be interesting as neither seem to try and prove my claims wrong. I think Andy & Josh are more like Kris, just not playing much, so I don't know. If I had to put thoughts on who is all townies I'd be looking myself, Kris, Josh, Andy, Jay, Picklz and the honestly I'm thinking between Nate, Tom, and JT, they might be scum mixed in there...

I don't know how I'm getting labeled as not playing much.
I feel like I'm posting often and I'm reading every post in here.

I'll admit to not naming names other than Kris as my suspects. That might seem as "not playing".
However, I want to see a bit more action before I lay my hand down.

That said.... Yes, Kris is likely not scum and AJs thoughts on who are/aren't townie are very similar to what I'm thinking.

I guess I see how basically posting a +1, can be considered not being active.
I'll be more vocal, even if it is just regurgitation of what has already been said.

Similar page, although I am thinking JT may be the missing town member.

Now let me ask a question. You have very valid reasons to believe I am scum. Hell I'd probably believe it too, if I were after me. My actions were somewhat, and probably still are- questionable. BUT- would I purposely go against what would clearly be an advantageous situation for scum, when all I'd have to do is lay low and post generic questioning of other people? I doubt it very much. I just happen to actually want to find out who scum is, as opposed to blindly feeling my own junk and voting for someone because the rest do it. That's a real good way to get town lynched.

Wait, so Kris is already on his way to getting lynched, when most of us think he's not scum, but we're willing to waste a lynch on him? We have to make them count and to me this is not the right approach. Remember when you guys did that the last couple times and got smoked? At this point I think we're going to have trouble getting a majority vote on anyone unless more evidence shines through. I have a few leads on people but don't want to publically claim anything quite yet.

SUDO Make me a SAMCH
I'm torn on Lynching Kris to be honest, here's what I'm thinking.

One one hand I can't really see a good reason for him to post what he did so early in the game, or really ever. I know he said he want's to see reactions to it but I think there are far better ways to go about it than pretending to be scum. We've also had this happen in the past where the Scum flat out admit who they are and nobody does anything about it.

Assuming for a moment that Kris really is town, I guess the post has sparked a fair bit of discussion, which really during day 1 is the best thing that can happen to help hash out who's who, again I think it's a dumb thing for town to say - but not completely outside the realm of possibility.

My quandary is if we lynch him, and he is Town - well that flipping sucks. However if we Don't lynch him A) He could be Scum and B) Odd's are we lynch a Townie whom was maybe providing more value in hunting zee scum.

If we have a cop on duty - we could investigate Kris during night 1 if we don't lynch him and really see where we stand - if we don't have a cop though we're right back to the drawing board.

Need to read MOAR, will post again tonight.
