The APCC Started a couple years ago, and I'd like to start a new tradition of hosting a poker tournament on new years day every year. Come join us for our first ever New Years Tournament.
I would like to try and play 2-3 tournaments if we have time and people are interested.
When: Feel free to show up anytime after 1:00pm - Would like to start the first game promptly at 1:30pm
Where: Angry Pickle Card Club (My house in Ramsey, See Below)
Why: No Limit Texas Holdem Poker Tournament(s)
Who: YOU - I have room for 9 or 10 at my main table - if more than that wish to go I am thinking about setting up another 4 or so people at my square bar table and combine the two tables when we get down to around 8 players total remaining.
Because this is a tournament and I have limited room please RSVP - I understand shit happens sometimes but if you are going to commit to going please try and be reasonably sure you can make it.
General Rules:
As with most all of my poker games everyone is invited; even if you haven't played before! All I ask is that you come willing to learn, and wanting to play and pay attention.
This will be a no limit game - bets must be at least as much as the big blind, and raises need to double the previous bet. I want to try and stick to standard/casino rules as much as possible - but I understand this is also a friendly game and there will be inexperienced players, so if you do something that is generally not allowed or not best practices I'll just try and let you know.
Note: I will make decision on all disputes (if we have any, never really have), IF the dispute involves me another knowledgeable player will be selected at random to make a ruling.
Seating
All seats will be drawn at random for each tournament. I will fill in information here as far as how we will handle multiple tables if we end up going that route.
The Chips
This will be a tournament style game - Everyone will buy in for $5 each game and receive their tournament chips. THESE CHIPS HAVE NO CASH VALUE. The breakdown of chips will be:
$.05 chips x 15 for a total of $.75
$.25 chips x 13 for a total of $3.25
$1 chips x 6 for a total of $6
$5 chips x 1 for a total of $5
Grand total - $15
The Blinds
Blinds will run as follows:
Blinds Will Immediately go to 10 minute intervals when play reaches Heads Up (2 Players remaining)
Rebuys: Players will be allowed to re-buy for an additional $5 if they bust out within the first 30 minutes of the game. They will be given $15 in chips and allowed to return to the action. A maximum of 8 re-buys total and 1 per player will be allowed per game.
Payout
Payouts will be based on how many people we have playing using the following scale:
The general formulas used are:
3 Places - 50%/30%/20%
4 Places - 50%/25%/15%/10%
5 Places - 50%/24%/13%/8%/5%
Prizes will be paid out at the end of each game.
Food
We will have various snack type items - lil smokies and/or meatballs, buffalo chicken dip, pretzels, etc,if you wish to bring something to share that would be wonderful, however it is not required. I will have pop and water available, anything else you need for liquids please bring.
