    WTB: Canoe

Kind of looking for an inexpensive 2-man canoe or kayak. My only requirements are that it's in decent shape, and that it's small/light enough that two adults can heft it on and off a rood rack without too much trouble--I just plan on using it for some occasional paddling on the weekends...

Spring Dyno Day - General interest thread

I'm getting ready to start planning a spring dyno day, and I'd like to get a preliminary head count of who is fairly certain they'd throw their car on the rollers! It would be at MAPerformance in Plymouth, and previous events have started around 10am on a saturday, going through early...

Burning a bit of coolant (I think)

During my last few oil changes, I've been watching my coolant level and I've added maybe a cup or so to keep the reservoir at the midpoint when the engine was cool. I've never noticed any oil film in the coolant reservoir, nor any water in the oil. What do you all think... Should I be...

    Roof rack discussion

I've been thinking about picking up a nice roof rack this spring, and I know at least a few people here are fairly knowledgeable about them... so here go a couple questions: How easily can a given rack be swapped between two cars? I know there are custom fitting options on a lot of the nicer...

MNMazda bowling night @ Park Tavern!

Would anyone be interested in doing this again? The winter beer n' pizza league starts the week of Jan 12th, and Nanami and I are planning on signing up. That means we'd be potentially looking for two more team-mates and any other groups of 4 who wanted to start a team. Just as a refresher...

    Got rearended today...

... luckily it was only at about 5-10mph, and the only damage was where the kid's license plate bracket bolts punctured my rear bumper. God damn though, for as hard as my head snapped back I was expecting my car to be fucked up. Apparently he was nearly at a stop behind me when the light...

Anyone taken the Fundamentals of Engineering exam?

Just wondering if anyone here has taken the exam. Normally it's an exam you'd take shortly after graduation, and it's also called the Engineer in Training exam, on your way to becoming a licensed Professional Engineer. I'm planning on signing up for the Spring '10 exam as part of my efforts to...

    Fixing/restoring old single-hung windows

Anyone ever actually worked on them? I've been reading up a on what you can do for old windows, and there's a lot of good info on the web. I'd like to take a crack at fixing up at least a few of the windows in our house, and if anyone has any first-hand experience, I'd be happy to listen!

If you had to relocate anywhere in the country...

... which state(s) would be your top choice, and why? I've started thinking about opening up my job search to include a few select regions I wouldn't mind relocating to, and I was curious where others would choose to live if they had a choice. Let's keep this to an assumption that you're...
