Bought a generic coil from NAPA for $35. Has a 1 year warranty. It was the only one in stock. Plugged it in and CEL went away right away. I didn't disconnect the battery and it still went away. If that's the fix, I'll look into replacing all of them with better coils.

Picklz, what brand of coils did you go with? CEL is back.

Alright, got the plugs swapped. #2 cylinder spark plug came out in 2 pieces. The terminal nut came off in the coil boot when I pulled it off. The spark plug still in the motor. Swapped them, cleared code and we will go from there.

I think I'll be doing plugs, wires and the #2 coil. Car is an 04 MZ3. It calls for iridium, so NGK Iridiums are what's going in there. Now, what wires? Car is stock. I knew what options I had with my Focus, not so much with my 3.

The cheap stuff you buy at pep boys is super cheesy. If you go with a good quality vinyl it's not too bad.

It is tough. We can see outside the box, but unfortunately many other people can't. Spelling it out(mnmazda.com), while also giving a visual(MN) usually makes it stick. Some people are remember visuals, others remember words/letters.
