SUDO Make me a SAMCH
I like both, my comment was more of a try it before you knock it. Not saying everyone has to like it, but if it's as easy as some of you make it out to be I'm not sure why you aren't out there making BANK doing it.

As for cost, you can be competitive in drag racing (bracket racing) without spending all that much money. I love road courses but I sitll have a ton of fun at the strip.

To stay somewhat on topic I'd like to make this but it's up in the air at this point.

I think this would be a fun event, especially if we could get some adjacent camp sites...

If you drove a car into the 9s and all the excitement was gone after 20 seconds you should be taking the bus. It's an apples to oranges comparison. It's about accomplishment of setting a goal. It's about defeat when breaking and not reaching a goal. It's about trial and error. Racing is about passion for what you want to do with what you got, to be the better man/woman that day. Regardless if it's drag racing or the Indy 500.
Agreed.

I don't understand why people are taking this and turning it into a drag racing and straight line acceleration vs all other types of racing and driving debate. Just because one enjoys drag racing, for whatever reason, doesn't mean they can't or don't enjoy twisties (speeding is illegal, mmm kaa?), auto x, drift racing, or road courses.

Since all'ya are going to air your dirty laundry about drag racing, I'll air a little of my own. I think auto x is pretty lame myself, at least compared to real road courses, and at least these two something in common. If one really wants to test the limits of themselves and their cars, hit the road course at BIR. I mean come on, how much pressure are under when your taking a corner at only 30 and the biggest risk you have is getting a cone stuck in your wheel well? I prefer banked turns and the use of 4th and 5th gears. Now that's a real test of skill while under real pressure.

Don't get me wrong, I will be out at a few auto x events this year, but I only see it as practice for BIR or RA.

Agreed, lets stop the bit*hing, and at least respect anything that brings people together with cars and promotes our community...

We love and enjoy all forms of racing. auto x, Road course, drifting, and drag, We have been rooted by drag racing we have always been about having as fast a street car as possible. We are now growing into everything else with several customer and sponsored cars in Time Attack.
