Jess you may want to mention the riverside camp sites specifically, so they know exactly where we want to be...they're the best ones available for size and location.
renting tubes and floating down the river friggin' ROCKED 4 Summers ago....best camping trip evar, and the riverside campsites are literally 10 feet from the beach and 5-10 feet of beach til the river...falling asleep to the sound of the river going by = total WIN
Yes it seems Jay has a fetish with trains or their sounds...I am confused. Anyway, glad no one else seems to have bad memories of the fanDAMtastic camping trip last year. So I think we should start a camping thread...like the one last year...to find out for sure how many people (guests/spouses) and tents will be there and/or needed and such stuff. I may be requesting group spots with more than that will really be coming and that could ruin our chances. I am running on the assumption of one guest per person signed up so far...which with me counts as 16 and I figured 5-6 tents or so.
You can't seem to get over them...like they are always on your mind...in your thoughts...like you will miss them this summer! I almost feel like we need to stay at the same place.
Ok, update and opinions needed.................
They do not have the site by the water open. It is the one in the woods and she says it isn't close to the river.
The cost will be $30 per night: which includes one tent and one car.
Each additional car is $5. All monies have to be paid 30 days in advance, so by July 14th. Shall I keep looking or are your hearts set on this place?
Here's a link to the map for those of you wondering MAP. This site is the absolutely worst one in the place, as you may have deduced from the "Farm Field" directly adjacent to the site.....total crap.
Ok, enough said. I will continue looking for places in Grand Rapids area. Still waiting for the info from the visitor center there. Maybe we will head about 30 miles north of there, pretty scenery and curvy roads. I will keep working on it.
