SUDO Make me a SAMCH
This is a thread to gauge interest and get the ball rolling for a 2011 Cruise/Cabin stay to Itasca state park. For those that did not make it when we went two years ago the trip goes like this - Leave semi-early on Saturday morning for a fun Cruise to Itasca state park which is around a half hour North of Park Rapids (3.5hour drive or so). Then spend one night in a BALLER old Clubhouse Cabin with 10 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and a total sleeping capacity of 21!
Pictures of the cabin:
There is quite a bit to do up there - hiking, rental mountain bikes (or bring your own), fishing, campfires, check out the Mississippi headwaters, etc, etc. Technically being a state park there is no alcohol involved, but as those that went last year can attest, we had plenty and were not bothered, I think as long as things don't get out of hand it's no big deal to have some drinks.
Cost for the cabin is ~$500 for the night - if we get 10 people thats $50/person...more obviously will make this less.
It might seem a bit early to be working on setting this up but September 10th is basically the only Saturday the Clubhouse is available all summer, so the sooner we can get at least 8-10 people committed and reserve it, the better. Right now I'd just like to see the number of people that are seriously interested, if it looks like there is enough interest I'll update with how deposits/payment and reserving the cabin will work.
Please indicate if it is just yourself wanting to go, or how many additional people, and how many beds are needed.
Note it is 10 bedrooms with a total of 7 full and 7 twin beds, some of the rooms have two beds in them so depending on total number of people there may be some room sharing. Room / Bed selection will be based on date of payment (if we get to that point).
I think pretty much everyone that was on this trip last time will tell you it was an absolute blast, Hope we get to do it again this year!
