See article here

I see some of the arguments made, the engines made in Britain and expensive, cost seems to be slightly more than a Prius, and diesel costs more than gas.

But, for a car that gets 15mpg better than a Prius, can narrow the price gap with tax incentives, and will never have an expensive battery to replace it sounds awfully silly for Ford not to at least offer it here.

Once they start making them here and MEXICO, the price will be cheaper and the gas engine should make pretty good mpg too. I do not understand why they couldn't get a few diesel engines in the batch over here. It's not like people are running around hating the fuel, it's just got a bad rep, so why not just bring a few over and see if "diesel + 65 mpg" sounds better than "diesel".

TDI (turbo direct inject) diesel VW Golfs and Polos have been hitting 50+ forever, we need some dizzle cars in the state for sure.
